Learn to Sell, Learn to Build. Do both, and you’ll be unstoppable - Naval Ravikant
Everybody has something to sell. Even if you aren’t collecting money.
Our entire civilisation is built on the concept of equal exchange. I give you what you want, and you give me what I want.
Do you want to connect with your old schoolmates on Facebook for free?
Sure, go ahead.
But you’ll give me your data for marketing purposes.
Deal?
Every day, you step out of your house trying to convince someone to listen to you, buy something from you, hire you to do a job and so on.
This is why it’s crucial that you learn how to sell.
Sales is more than a skill marketers need.
It’s the ability to persuade and influence people to give you what you want, willingly.
To be honest, I’m not the best salesman out there. I’m still learning, but I can tell you the first rule of being a salesperson.
Listen, and care about the other person.
See, people are inherently selfish, and will only pay attention to anything that will benefit them.
To get what you want, create a situation where the other party gets what they want by giving you what you want.
This is the entire model of capitalism and modern western civilization.
Find what someone wants, help them get it. Give it to them in exchange for what you want.
Want a relationship with that beautiful girl? Find out what she wants, and become the man that she can have it with,
Want to make a million dollars? Look for a problem that someone will pay millions of dollars to solve, and ask for his millions in exchange for that solution.
In conclusion, learn to be unselfish.
Solve people’s problems and connect it to what you want.
That is the first step to getting everything that you want.

Awesome read, it is evident that we all need to learn how to sell, even if not a product per se, but ourselves.
I personally don't like selling but this is an undeniable fact. Best if one uses it to their advantage.
